It's time for someone to find a cure for idiocy.

Impeach Obama for ... uh ... whatever

by BarbinMD

Oh brother:

Public Policy Polling has another mind-bending partisan number from its national survey. Right now, 20 percent of Americans "support the impeachment of President Obama for his actions so far." That number includes 35 percent of Republicans, to only 15 percent of independents and 10 percent of Democrats.

"I’m not clear exactly what ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ they are using to justify that position," said PPP’s Tom Jensen, "but there may be a certain segment of voters on both the right and the left these days that simply think the President doing things they don’t agree with is grounds for removal from office."

And I think that there may be a certain segment of voters -- specifically 35 percent of Republicans, 15 percent of independents and 10 percent of Democrats -- who are idiots that need to read the Constitution.

Sorry, children, but Glenn Beck sobbing in front of a picture of Stalin or extremists screaming "sell-out" do not make a case of high crimes and misdemeanors. Elections count. Get over it.

1. Puzzling:
"I’m not clear exactly what ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ they are using to justify that position," said PPP’s Tom Jensen...

What was the justification for asking the question?

4. Aside from the idiots responding, PPP asked the question and now pretend the results are surprising
Why is this a surprise, considering that 10 percent of Democrats who voted for McCain?

5. Exactly...
But my point was that they asked a loaded question to trigger an irrational response.

6. George Bush got more democrat votes than Ralph Nader in 2000
Not surprising. I went to a registered democrats house with a McCain sticker on his truck in 2008 while canvassing.

They do the polls on voter registration, there are democrats who are now republicans and republicans who are now democrats that just haven't bothered to change their voter reg.

There are more of the former since the GOP didn't have a competitive primary last year.

8. Which means nothing. This is a bizarre Green talking point I see raised quite often
How is a party or candidate supposed to control how people register to vote? Are "Democrats" responsible for the fact that someone who is really a Republican or Centrist or whatever else decided to register as a Democrat and then voted for a Republican?

10. Well if you understood how a poll is done it is relevant
If there are people who ideologically are republicans registered as democrats, than when a polling firm selects it's sample with a pre-determined amount of all political parties, they are going to get some democrats who are really republicans.

14. Ah, but I do know how polls are conducted. And they still encounter the same issue
How is the Democratic Party supposed to be responsible for someone who claims they are a "Democrat" but in reality do not vote that way or hold views that dont seem that way.

16. It's willful. There needs to be an intervention.
Friends and family plan a fake party, and when their beloved idiot shows up, they sit them down and explain how their idiocy is ruining their life. They agree to seek treatment right then and there, or be cut-off indefinitely.
