If terrorists were bombing all our major cities, those taxcuts would still be their #1 priority. That is how important it is for them.
If there is game-playing on this issue by the Democrats in the Senate, there will be a high price to pay in the next election. Democratic voters do not want the millionaire taxcuts extended while programs for the people are being cut. Of course, we know the Democrats would never compromise on that issue, right?

What frightens me most is not that it can, and likely will pass both houses and that the press will ignore or gloss over it as a good thing but that there is a chance that Obama will sign it after being pressured by republicans. I am hoping he doesnt sign it and the Senate then goes for the 2/3 majority for passage to override the veto which likely will happen since democrats will once again go along with repubs after arm ringing. Hope i am wrong though.

everthing else, the cultural BS issues, the fear mongering over guns, the drum beats for war ...
ALL second shelf issues to the tax cuts for the rich - it is the VERY foundation of the entire party ...
