Stupid Democrats
Edited on Sun Oct-17-10 08:53 PM by babylonsister
That's a lot of Democrats who have withheld support-from their own party.

Stupid Democrats

How many of the following Democrats have pledged to vote for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker, voted for the health care bill, voted for Cap and Trade, voted for the stimulus bill, and voted for Wall Street Reform?

Among the endangered Democrats counting on a substantial black turnout are Representatives Bobby Bright of Alabama, Allen Boyd of Florida, Sanford D. Bishop Jr. and Jim Marshall of Georgia, Frank Kratovil Jr. of Maryland, Travis W. Childers of Mississippi, Steve Driehaus and Betty Sutton of Ohio, John M. Spratt Jr. of South Carolina, Chet Edwards of Texas, and Glenn Nye and Tom Perriello of Virginia.

Here's the problem. These Democrats need blacks to have their back even though they most of them have not had the president's back...at least, not consistently. And if you are not even going to vote for Pelosi then who gives a crap if you win reelection? In every case, their opponents are worse. But maybe these candidates should have thought about who they'd need to win reelection instead of how they could distance themselves from the president and the Democratic leadership. Each candidate has a distinct record so, for example, Perriello has nothing to apologize for. Most of them have taken at least one courageous vote. But, as a group, they've been running scared, and that doesn't inspire progressive Democrats to come out and vote for you.

1. And they're quick to blame black people for everything; yet, no Democrat can win
without the black vote!

I get tired of us being the scapegoat for Democratic failures. We are the most local constituency there is.

If Democrats lose, it ain't our fault. Blame the Blue Dogs. Blame the defeatist liberals who complain that Obama's not "purely liberal." But don't blame us black folk. We got the Democrats' back.

2. Hold on! This is all about lack of support for the Prez and Pelosi.
It's not about blaming black people. It's about people running away from leadership.

4. Right. But *why* are they running away? They expect the leadership to do everything for them.
As I recall, Obama ran on an "us" and "we" ticket, not a "he" ticket. People are missing this point. It's going to take us all working together.

We are different from the Republicans. We don't need a "Daddy Figure," like they do. We are independent thinkers.

I just believe that it's going to take ALL of us. ALL of us!!!

We cannot just rely on blacks to bring this election to success. It's going to take ALL of us to help Obama in this battle.

5. Maybe these folks miscalculated and took the hype as
truth. Look at tonight's rally. I think Dems need to embrace their principles and stick by them; those principles have served them well in the past, as the OP fleetingly indicates.

And we are both one of ALL of us!

7. You are absolutely correct. It will take all of us
The more the MSM and the Repugs try to discourage us the more they anger us into getting out to Vote.

3. I agree. AA's as a group are very loyal to Dems.
The blue dogs don't inspire, the defeatist liberals think punishing works when it makes things worse. No easy answer in these types of districts on how to hold on to those seats. They need crossover independent types but not at the expense of a constituency like the AA's.

6. Blacks and Hispanics will be out and voting.
The MSM and the Republicans are counting us out.

They want to discourage us, well they have picked the wrong groups of people. That's all....

9. If I were in those areas..
and voted for one of them it would be hard for me to do and if I did as soon as the election was over and if they won,I would be working to get them out or making their terms a living hell..
