Obama and Biden head west to bolster the Democratic base

Obama and Biden head west to bolster the Democratic base
By Sean J. Miller - 10/18/10 06:00 AM ET

President Obama and Vice President Biden will crisscross the country this week delivering the party’s closing argument to voters.

In speeches from Pennsylvania to Oregon, the top two Democrats will be urging supporters to get to the polls while warning them of the potential that Republicans could repeal key pieces of the administration’s agenda if the GOP retakes control of Congress. Most of the places on the president's and vice president's schedules are safe Democratic territory, which could mean the party is now focused primarily on its voter-turnout effort.

The presidential road trip starts on Wednesday in Portland, Ore., where Obama will headline a rally for former Gov. John Kitzhaber (D), who is running for his old job back.

Obama will be in Washington state on Thursday morning for a “backyard town hall” with Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). A recent Washington poll showed Murray leading Republican challenger Dino Rossi by eight points.

1. too bad he doesn't come to
the Arkansas/Missouri area. It would really pick up a lot of support here in the heartland.

2. Why No Colorado?
We love our First Lady, but the boss needs to get here too.

Races in both Governor and Senate are virtual tie.

Please come to Denver with the snowfall
We'll move up into the mountains so far that we can't be found
And throw "I love you" echoes down the canyon
And then lie awake at night till they come back around
Please come to Denver
