As more of the video surfaces from GOP Senate nominee Sharron Angle's meeting last week with Rancho High School's Hispanic kids, the more bizarre it gets. Elsewhere on this blog, I have posted the video of her claiming an infamous still she and Louisiana Sen. David Vitter used in an ad, an incendiary image of Hispanic thugs, may not have been an image of Hispanics. That was nutty enough. But at the same meeting, according to video I have obtained and taken by one of the Hispanic students, she said some of the kids looked more Asian.

Strange? You be the judge.

"So that’s what we want is a secure and sovereign nation and, you know, I don’t know that all of you are Latino. Some of you look a little more Asian to me. I don’t know that. What we know, what we know about ourselves is that we are a melting pot in this country. My grandchildren are evidence of that. I’m evidence of that. I’ve been called the first Asian legislator in our Nevada State Assembly."

That last comment, about her being called the first Asian legislator? I have no idea what she is talking about.

And this nuts may win, after the debate. Rasmussen has her ahead by 3.

Isn't so much that the GOP is running nuts, but the fact that she's competitive in the race. When people like this can spew their bullshit and actually be in the running to win, it's a sign that our country may be beyond fucked.

How many people in NV know what people on DU know about Angle? Probably very few.

And the MSM isn't going to help tip people off to the crazy, so a lot of people are voting out of sheer ignorance. Granted, I haven't seen any of Reid's ads, so who knows how much opposition he's putting up?

This woman shouldn't poll one single non-white voter in her favor based on her views, and just plain anyone with common sense should run in the other direction.

A new video of the meeting released by the Las Vegas Sun on Monday shows the Republican candidate arguing that it is difficult to pinpoint someone's race.

She tells the Hispanic students that some of the students look "a little more Asian" and says she herself has been called Nevada's first Asian legislator.

Angle is white.

Sarcasm aside -- because that woman is as ignorant as a box of rocks -- I was raised among many Asians and no Native Americans, and to this day from time to time I can spot very Asian-appearing faces among Mexican-Americans and Native Americans. Some really do look Chinese or Japanese to me, but that's just the genetic heritage of the Asian migrations to North America some 17,000 years ago. There's a huge number of social clues though to tell you the difference. I look Irish, but that doesn't mean I was born in County Mayo.

People of Nevada, please do not send this woman to the US Senate.
