First Lady Michelle Obama, left, applauds with actress Sarah Jessica Parker, center, and Jill Biden after speaking at the Democratic National Committee fundraiser in NY.

First Lady Michelle Obama barnstormed Manhattan Monday to defend her husband's administration -- and to fire up Democratic voters.

She told a cheering crowd at a Times Square fund-raiser that it would take more time and effort to turn the country around.

"For so many people, change has not come fast enough, and believe me, it hasn't come fast enough for Barack either," she told more than 1,000 people.

"It is going to take a lot longer to dig ourselves out of this hole than any of us would like," she added. "This is the hard part of change."

3. I love my First Lady!
She makes me proud to be an American woman. Same for when Hillary Clinton was First Lady. They both make me feel MIGHTY proud. Their predecessors - not so much.
