With the variations in hours worked by hourly employees a few dollars here or there wont have much impact.

everyone a rebate instead of a few bucks more on each check, most people never even noticed. The Democrats did a horrible job educating the people about the Stimulus and the HCR bill. I bet there isn't 10% of the people that know 1/3 of the Stimulus was tax cuts.

People got $400- $800 lump-sum surprises on at tax time. There were comments all over the Internet.
People were jumping for joy and the media hyped the $300 checks from Bush. There were all those ridiculous commericials by some retailers asking what people planned to do with the money.
