"He's a tremendous advocate," White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters.
Leading up to the midterm elections Clinton has been on the trail aggressively stumping for his party across the country.
On Tuesday, campaigning in Florida for Senate candidate Kendrick Meek, Clinton told the audience "this is the 90th event I've done in this election season." He then explained why, with a grim assessment of what's at stake. "I've seen this movie before. If it keeps going, it doesn't have a happy ending."
Gibbs called Clinton "an effective voice for the Democratic Party," and "for the steps that this administration has had to take to rescue the economy, to put ourselves back on a stable financial footing."
