It seems like every damn nite (expletive) Katie Couric on CBS only has negatives
about Obama and Democrats.

This is about the time I switch channels to something else.

1. I wouldn't bother to switch channels
From what I hear it's the same BS everywhere you look.

2. Forget the M$M
They are the sock puppets of the filthy rich and their international corporations. They happily promote what their fat cat bosses demand. In the end they are willing co-conspirators in the organized assault - to ship our jobs overseas, dismantle Social Security and Medicare, and deregulate Wall Street and the Banksters.

Don't expect a fair shake from the media, they are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

3. The other possibility, of course ...
... is that the political news is not very good for Obama and the Democrats.

It all sounds like a pretty mixed bag right now. I hear some Democratic analysts who say it still looks like a big loss for the Dems, and some who say there is some improvement in their prospects.

But if you are looking for a rosy scenario, well, truth is that it probably just isn't there.

5. While what you say is true
Some of the coverage is downright laughable. On ABC the other night (yes, the one I watch) breathless coverage:

THE REPUBLICANS NEED TO WIN 10 SEATS TO CONTROL THE SENATE. THEY'RE AHEAD IN FIVE RACES NOW. ONLY FIVE MORE TO GO...

As if it was some kind of exercise routine with no suggestion that that might be the only five they're going to win. I composed an alternative scenario in my head, equally as valid:

THE REPUBLICANS NEED TO WIN 10 SEATS TO CONTROL THE SENATE. ONLY SIX WEEKS FROM THE ELECTION, THEY CAN'T GET PAST FIVE.

I mean, really...

6. Well, what you say is true, too.
You know, I haven't watched one of the half-hour, broadcast major network news programs in years.

I pretty much just look at MSNBC and use the internet ... oh, and I do listen to radio news casts at the top of the hour especially in the mornings.

I guess it isn't for me so much that the MSM is biased as it is necessarily superficial because there is so little time given for comprehensive reporting.

4. I switched to ABC the night she took over
IIRC, Rush Limbaugh was her guest. ABC isn't a whole lot better, of course.

My local ABC actually covered Jerry Brown's and Meg Whitman's positions last night. :wow: This was the only time I've seen anything but horse-race coverage anywhere.

8. Funny how that works. If the media did it's job the discussion would be able the stark differences
between Dem and Teabagger.

9. I encourage you and everyone else to go to media sites, set up account and start commenting on
their reports and stories. It's a little late as far as the mid-terms go, but it's better than yielding the screen to the idiots who chant and march in lock-step. You can also comment of FB pages.

you can use criticisms you find on DU as ammunition and refer to articles in papers. (you may have to indicate the title of article and tell readers to google it as many media sites will not allow links to be appear in comments - takes readers away from their site)

Have at it!
