CNN declares new Gallup poll bad news for Democrats
CNN: TRENDING: Bad news for Dems: New low for Pelosi in Gallup poll

<...>

Amid these dismal numbers, its no wonder Pelosi has rarely been seen publicly on the campaign trail this year and has become a prime target for just about every Republican challenging a House Democrat.

A rare public campaign appearance for the House Speaker did come last week in Pennsylvania, where, at a United Steel Workers 'Women of Steel' conference she touted the president's legislative agenda, including the passage of health care and the stimulus bill.

The National Republican Congressional Committee appeared to respond to Pelosi's appearance with glee, saying in a statement, "This is not as much a rallying cry as it is a party leader frantically lashing out as the gavel continues to slip out of her hands

<...>

Gallup:

So is Boehner's 27 percent approval bad news for Republicans?

How is it that 42 percent have no idea or opinion of Boehner, but everyone has heard of Pelosi?

The new poll also finds Pelosi significantly more unpopular with Americans than House Republican Leader John Boehner. Boehner is less well-known than Pelosi (58% of Americans have an opinion of him compared with 85% for Pelosi), but among those who know him, Boehner's image is generally balanced: 27% view him favorably vs. 31% unfavorably.

1. After Rasmussen's polls, Gallup seems to be the next in line to shill for Republicans.

Ezra Klein: Americans less satisfied than in any other Gallup midterm poll, ever

Gee, I wonder why? Could it be the result of the worse economic crisis in 75 years?

Ezra goes on to say: "But it doesn't bode well for Democrats next month, and it's not likely to change in the next two weeks."

CW: Republicans screwed up the country and Americans are pissed enough to return them to office.

Does ever include the Great Depression?

3. Turn those banks and insurance companies loose to do what they do best!
People must love the pain! I just have to find some of the unemployed who want the Republicans to return to power. Show me a masochist!

4. The media has to have their narrative, but individual polls in states like PA, CO, KY, WI, IL, WVA
show the Dems running for the senate gaining ground.

5. Gallop's Most Likely Voters Poll is weighted Almost 2:1 Republican.
The Head of Gallop gave an hour long presentation
on C-Span duing Kerry Campaign.

He very openly explained why they weigh the LIKLY Voters.

It is a fact and Democrats will admit this. Republicans
come out and vote in every election. Even though
there are more Democrats than Republicans registered
in every state, you cannot depend on Democrats to get out
and vote. They have been most accurate with this rating
and weighing. Who is likely to turn out? Republicans.

Every text book will tell you the better off financially
and more educated have a stake in elections. These are
Republicans.

The Democrats have to get it together and start being depended
on to show up and vote. Otherwise we have RW Government forever.

6. Yet another example of why my high school Statistics teacher included a day on
"How to Lie With Statistics." As a pretty naive 16-year-old I didn't fully appreciate what a valuable lesson she was teaching us, but I sure as heck do now.

11. Wow, what a good teacher.
We need more of that.

I'll never forget my junior year history teacher. He was the first person who talked about anything other than the standard white-washed, propaganda-spun view of U.S. history, pointing out that money had been the motivating factor for virtually every historic action taken by mankind over the last few thousand years. It was really eye-opening to me.

10. I don't believe these numbers at all. Dems are trending upward.
They are including too many teanuts in the sample.
