Bush: Sorry I Didnt Privatize Social Security
Former President George W. Bush signaled on Thursday that he sees not privatizing Social Security as his greatest failure from the eight years he served in the White House, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The unpopular Republican leader made the suggestion while speaking at a trade conference in the Windy City, where he discussed his legacy and also offered a glimpse into what readers can expect from his forthcoming memoir, Decision Points.

‘I would like to be remembered as a guy who had a set of priorities, and was willing to live by those priorities,’ explained Bush. ‘In terms of accomplishments, my biggest accomplishment is that I kept the country safe amidst a real danger.’

Why does xCommander AWOL Bush (R) hate the American people?

Didn't he and his republicon cronies do enough to trash the economy, and drive our government into fiscal chaos? He wishes his FAIL was even further reaching.

What a pathetically sick soul.

4. He's done the Dems a favor by this statement
Now the Dems can remind Americans how committed the right wing is regarding this important social safety net.

8. Right. And there's nothing warm and fuzzy about W
He's a sociopath who held the reigns of government for 8 years and ran it into a deep ditch only to walk away while brushing the dust off his hands as if to say, "Mission accomplished.".

10. Mission Accomplished
He did do that.

Destroyed everything Clinton did during his 8 year term while being crucified for a blow job. I don't care about that shit. That's Hillary's problem, not ours.

13. It's Merry Chimpmas, Dems!!!
Chimpy Bush just gave the Dems the very best present we could possibly ask for. Now, no matter how hard the Repukes try to deny plans to privatize, we have proof-positive that it has been their plan all along.

It's time to start putting out the TV spots running this Bush quote and asking the voters if they really want to give the GOPers a chance to finish the job to privatize.

14. Sure, it's like he's sending out a clarion call to right wing candidates
He wants them to complete his unfinished business.

It's an outrage that he should think that this was his greatest failure. And it's time he take the bulls eye off the backs of the American people.

Geezus....i thought the democrats had sold us out but reading this the republicans are just plain diastrous! Man, how the perception of what is left and right have really shifted so right that what we thought was right 20 years ago is now the new left.

33. This reminds me of when Junior would give a speech and the stock market would always tank.
Every time like clockwork, that's how the market reacted to what this dickhead had to say. Now he's trying to help GOP candidates but he's characteristically making things worse for them. That's what he's always done, make things worse then leave his messes for someone else to deal with.

22. I'm pretty sure your greatest failure was the Iraq invasion, Mr. Bush.
What with the total absence of justification or a plan and all. I'm also not a fan of your decision to enter the White House in the first place, considering you were not legally elected to be there. And then there was that whole keeping the White House in 2004 after stealing yet another stolen election.

Imagine the state of the economy if the Bush Admin had managed to dump SS funds into the (at the time) bloated US Stock Market right before it came crashing down...

What a tool.

We got our's so...

36. he didn't keep of safe, he had warning before 9/11 and basically did nothing
then, there was the anthrax attacks-now who was taking cipro? I believe he wanted to do a great big enronization on the american people. He knew he was shoveling money to his "constituents" willy nilly, with little or no accountability. All of those war profiteers that served our soldiers crap and then there are the Iraq structures that are not fit to use. One big boondoggle--he knew before the end of his term that he gutted the treasury like he did his businesses and now his buddies were going to have to bailout him out. Too many people in a frenzy over privatizing SS-to shovel even more money to wall street, so he had to confess. Time for that bailout-and I remind anyone and everyone that the bailout happened under *. It's too bad that democrats didn't put more safeguards on the money, and too bad, that they didn't think about bailing out the homeowners, like Ireland did.
