1. More and more lies.. Those idiots are making us look bad as a gender... |
|
Only the idiots who think that the "popular idiot's" sparkle will rub down onto them support those fools now running around saying idiot things like "man pants" and "man up". No one is saying to them if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen when they run from reporters and debates.

2. this makes no sense.... |
|
why would thinking women align themselves with the party of Christine/Sarah/Meg/Carly? Dumb and dumber?
We have worked for generations to erase that perception, and the effort will be worthless if those idiots win.
I know there are the tea party types who just don't get it, but most women see thru the hype.

I can't believe that it would be nationally.
I have heard that the President has been making specific attempts to target female voters. They either see a potential problem, or a potential tool to win races.

or equal pay. It wasn't the GOP who signed the Ledbetter Act. And it certainly is the GOP wanting to take away choice. I can't believe how many are campaigning on a policy of no abortion even in the case of rape or incest. Talk about extreme!

Personally, I think you watch entirely too much television, and unfortunately for us, instead of you analyzing why they are saying what they are saying, you just hop on your computer to tell us what was said.... to be honest about you, if I wanted to know what they said at every hour, I'd simply watch the television myself!
Perhaps one day, when you aren't busy doing GOTV, You will share with us an op in which you have done research into media collusion, and how the media has been setting the stage for the results of this election for the last 16 months. In fact, one day, maybe instead of telling us what the media says at every step of the way, you will tell us why you think the media does this. That will be the day you will get a rec from me.

16. anyone read "The Secret of Joy" by Alice Walker |
|
it's about female circumcision in africa--but it's about women who actually aid men or laws to harm women. We are divided, and some, work against their own best interests. It's about the "sisterhood" of women and the betrayal by women. I read it a long time ago, but some things in that book still resonate.

most horrific processes that can be thought of. Cultural things aside...it is barbaric and needs to cease.
I'm often surprised that some group of morons never woke up and said, "Oh, this baby has two eyes, we must gouge them out."
I can accept some things from a cultural point of view...but to inflict pain, horror and terrori is beyond sickening.
Sorry about the rant, but some things just piss me off.

13. Yep, remember when women voters were ALL going to vote Palin? |
|
I'll never forget that in 2008. I had friends who bought that line 100 percent. They were terrified, sure that women (esp. HIllary voters) would vote for The Sarah.
Needless to say, they were wrong.
On the other hand, a narrowing might explain why the Dems have been releasing so many ads targeting women voters lately, showing them how anti-women a lot of the crazy GOP candidates are. Only time will tell how effective the ads are. I know if I were on the fence about voting, those ads sure would wake me the f%^k up.

14. Plouffe's book, "The Audacity to Win", talks about that. |
|
He said that the day after Palin's convention speech, there were thousands of people who had worked on Hillary's campaign that showed up at Obama headquarters and said "Put us to work. We want to beat her."

were not morons, and that they wouldn't vote for someone simply because she had two X chromosomes as well.
Plouffe and Ax were right. In fact, Sarah Palin may have been one of Obama for America's biggest fundraisers.

22. Women of color are invisible, it seems. I hope this is a lie! An aberration! |
|
Why would white women support someone like Sharron Angle or Ken Buck who would force women to carry to term, a fetus that was the result of a rape or incest? I don't get this at all.

24. Most blacks are invisible to these people |
|
Black voters are just that - black voters. White voters are broken down and analyzed as individuals - white women, white men, white middle class, white men making less than $50k, white women in the Midwest, white middle-aged married women with jobs who live in the middle house on the street, etc.
Black voters are just black voters. Rarely do we ever see any attempt to go beyond that, to analyze black opinion in anything close to the detail they analyze white voters. When was the last time you saw black voters broken down any further than race ?
As in most areas of our political culture, white folks are treated as complex individuals while black folks are just black.

25. Voters aren't logical .................... |
|
and that statement has nothing to do with gender or race.
Proof? Why did California elect Arnie to the governor's mansion? How did Palin become a governor in the first place? How did Reagan get elected twice? Why didn't Carter get a second term?
You could give me a reason for each, but the reality is that half this country is illogical when it comes politics.

28. This is because they are talking about LIKELY voters |
|
First they generate models that assume that people who are demographically more like republicans are more likely to vote. Then they only talk about the poll results among likely voters. Then they can ignore reality and get the story for which they have been handsomely compensated.
