Early Voting Stats--Lorain County, Ohio--Dems 45% Indies 31% GOP 23%
In Lorain County, the greatest faction of registered voters are considered “unaffiliated,” Adams said. That, however, is not being reflected in the ballots that have been cast during this election cycle.

As of yesterday, approximately 31 percent of early voters in Lorain County — including actual ballots cast and ballots requested — are independent voters. The largest percentage of early voters in the county, though, have been registered Democrats, with 45 percent of ballots cast and requested. Registered Republicans make up about 23 percent of the county’s early voters and the remaining voters are from third parties, Adams said.

“To see 45 percent of the absentee voters being Democrats is kind of surprising, but it seems to be close to what’s happening in Summit County,” Adams said.

2. I like the western side of the Greater Cleveland Area....
the white-wingers are thick as thieves out east, especially in Lake County. This is very good news indeed, as we in the civilized parts of the Buckeye have to overcome the knuckle draggers in the hinterland and down in the Darkside of Southwestern OHIO.

3. Most of my family live on Cleveland's west side
Sadly, they are all conservative republicans who watch Faux 24/7 and most of them collect government benefits and/or assistance. I sometimes wonder if I was adopted ...

:/

9. are any of the races in Lorain considered competitive?
While these numbers are good, I'm not sure what, if anything, can be drawn from them outside Lorain County. Lorain is a pretty solidly blue county. It went for Kerry over Bush in 2004 by a substantial margin and in 2008, Democratic candidates across the board ran roughly 20 to 30 points ahead of the repub competition. (President Obama took Lorain County by a margin of 18 percent).
