Republicans ignoring African Americans? Say it isn't so.

Black GOP Candidates Accuse Part of Ignoring Them

By Anna Palmer, CQ-Roll Call

Three long-shot African-American Republican House candidates are fuming at national party leaders for not doing enough to help get them elected.

Campaign managers for Chuck Smith in Virginia, Charlotte Bergmann in Tennessee and Marvin Scott in Indiana all said the support they've received from GOP leaders this cycle has been dismal. They added that there could be consequences for the party if they are elected to Congress next year.

Smith's campaign manager, Lisa Creeden, said she wishes her boss could count on the party's help; no Republican has held Virginia's 3rd district in 18 years.

"I think the Republican Party is going to damage themselves with the African-American community," Creeden said. "I understand part of it is they are focused on races they can win easily, but our point is we couldn't necessarily win this easily, but we can still win it. The effort to reach out to the African-American community will pay out in future elections.

1. They don't care (and never did). Under DimSon the Rethugs made
a half-assed attempt to increase their abysmal number of African-Americans, but their heart was never really in it. Now that they have settled on assimilating the Teabaggers instead, the shift is once again to their famous 'Southern Strategy', whereby you lock up all the white votes by making them afraid of all the n-----s and now the hispanics as well. Lee Atwater would be proud of what he has accomplished. I feel sorry for these three guys who actually believed that their invitation to the Country Club was to be a guest instead of being part of the hired help, but they chose their party.

3. Boo hoo
To those black elected republicans. How nice of them to proclaim the obvious. Have they not been watching the rise of the tea bag freaks? If you want to see a group of white nationalist all you have to do is witness one of their rallies. As soon as those black elected republicans noticed that they should of been heading for the hills. No self respecting African American would stand behind a party that supports such hate towards the first black president. Now they want to cry because they are not getting the support they need. Oh well. I don't want them on our side. They need to suck it up and keep it moving.

4. It completely mystifies me how any black person
can associate with the Republicon Party. The two reasons I've heard are religious, ie, don't like gays or abortion, and economical, ie, Republicans seem to be the party of the rich, and I want to be a part of that.

The hate for minorities among the Thug-licans and the 'baggers is so intense, it's scary. And 5-10% of the black population is OK associating with that. Mind-boggling.
