A word to the world...Obama in Oslo
No matter where you stand on conflict.. President Obama made it abundantly clear, that we the United States cannot be the police force for the world. There are times when conflict in necessary, but it is not a tool of first use.

The threat to the world, has to be shouldered by the world. We cannot continue to go into countries and clean their closets for them...anymore than they would want to come into ours.

Down is not up...Up is not down.. We all have a stake in a peaceful world. That also means not just broad brushing whole groups by the actions of fringes of that group.

It was in many ways a pretty tough speech.

1. It was an INANE speech. If we are not "police force of the world" then we must
immediately pull all of our Crusading Combat Forces out of the entire Middle East.

Everything he said RANG HOLLOW as long as we send our combat forces to OCCUPY two Muslim Countries.

There's no way even The GREATEST COMMUNICATOR can spin WAR as "a positive."

7. I truly feel sorry for you if that is what you garnered from this wonderful speech.
Your continued scorn of President Obama is noted, and dismissed, as not worthy of a man who history will see in a very different and positive light than your jaundiced view.

2. Ha ha, how funny, Joan Walsh.....
.... who did NOT like the speech two hours ago is now "impressed by it."

Not totally her fault. I think it's one of those speeches that we'll only really apprecaite years from now.

5. A great speech by any measure
This speech will convince many of his greatness.

The presentation was excellent. One could hardly notice that buried deep within, almost unnoticeable, is the brilliantly rehabilitated notion that war is peace.

8. An imperfect humanity is incappable of a perfect peace.......
especially instaneously after 10 months.

That's what I got out of it.
It was an excellent speech full of realistic truths....

12. OMG! Are you morphing President Obama into "ELVIS"?!?
Are we all "just imperfect beings" hoping to evolve toward the perfection of "The Perfect Elvis" = OBAMA. Is that HOW FAR you've "gone off the reservation" of political discourse?

OMG! Humanity is beauty by it's imperfection. It's NOT the cold and calculated war mongers who show MERCY for those "less than" and disenfranchised souls.

No, it's the imperfect sensitivity and loving sentiment ... COMPASSION for each other that makes HUMANITY worthwhile.

9. We do have a stake in a Peaceful
world and sometimes it calls for confronting the enemy, who blow up people to make a statement, and taking away their resources.
