Once I got that I was able to admit that the "god" she and her ilk refer to is not my God and certainly not my Goddess, and all I had to do was deal with their false claim that their god rules this planet and wants us all in Hell.

The god that Angle, Palin, et al. worship is a mirror image of themselves: nasty, brutish, mean, unloving, spiteful, malicious, evil, hateful, baleful, bitter, and malevolent.

Jesus always impressed me as a nice Jewish rabbi who had a wonderful way with parables on loving kindness and forgiveness. He was a mensch and a Boddhisattva. I don't recognize him anywhere in the behavior of the wingnut radicals and Teabaggers.

Look at it that way. I find it helps.
