New WI Senate Poll: Johnson (R) 48% (-1) Feingold (D) 44% (+3)

MADISON, Wis. -- Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ron Johnson continues to enjoy a lead in his bid to unseat Democratic incumbent Russ Feingold but the race shows signs of tightening, according to a new poll.

The poll, conducted at the behest of We The People Wisconsin, found that 48 percent of respondents said that they'd vote for Johnson if the election were held today. About 44 percent said they'd vote for Feingold.

One percent of respondents said they'd choose neither while 6 percent said they weren't sure or didn't know who to vote for, the poll found.

A We The People Wisconsin survey conducted earlier this month found that 49 percent favored Johnson while 41 percent supported Feingold. About 8 percent said they were undecided at that time.

A St. Norbert College Survey Center poll, sponsored by Wisconsin Public Radio, that was released last week showed the race being far closer. It found that 49 percent supported Johnson while 47 percent supported Feingold.

The new We The People Wisconsin survey was drawn from a 400-person sample taken from throughout the state from Oct. 24 to Oct. 27. The margin of error is plus or minus 5 percentage points.

He's a keeper, and it's at the point now where we have to somehow trust Wisconsin voters to look long and hard at dumping a great Senator like Feingold in trade for a fat-walleted lizard like his opponent.

Up from an all-time low of 5.6% on Oct 13th.

I really hope Silver is wrong about Feingold.

Watch what the campaigns do and what the WH thinks. According to the Washington Post the WH has written off the Wisconsin Senate race. I don't think I can watch the returns on Tuesday night, but then again I couldn't watch the Packer-Viking game and that turned out well for me.
