Wisconsin polling: Feingold-Johnson poll only included land-line phone users
Edited on Thu Oct-28-10 11:07 PM by zulchzulu

It will be interesting to see if the argument about those who are off the polling radar who use cell phones only (I do) are not part of the polling mix. Here's an article about a recent PEW poll:

Feingold-Johnson poll only included land-line phone users

Last week, the Pew Research Center said national polls that contacted people with only land-line phones tended to give a greater advantage to Republican candidates than polls that included cell phones. Did the St. Norbert College Survey Center poll last week that found U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold, a Democrat, about even with Republican Ron Johnson include cell phones?

A: No. The poll surveyed 402 likely voters, all land-line phone users, said David Wegge, St. Norbert College Survey Center director.

3. Well Russ Feingold did seem upbeat about internals in one article and he's nobody's fool.

4. As a Dean supporter in 04, I remember clinging to this talking point.
Dean lost. I hope Feingold is an exception.

5. I recall that as well. But in 2010 25% of American
households are cell-phone only, double the number of just two years ago.

And a marked difference between 2004 and today.

Pollsters try to adjust for it, but we'll find out soon how accurate they've been.
