Sarah Palin Responds To Karl Rove's Latest Swipe: Reagan Was On TV Too (VIDEO)
Sarah Palin Responds To Karl Rove's Latest Swipe: Reagan Was On TV Too (VIDEO)

Former Governor Sarah Palin continued escalating her feud with Karl Rove on Sunday, offering a tongue-in-cheek response to the latest criticism from the former Bush strategist, that her reality-show persona didn't provide the gravitas required for a presidential run.

"You know, I agree with that," Palin said, during an interview with "Fox News Sunday," "that those standards have to be high for someone who would ever want to run for president like, um, wasn't Ronald Reagan an actor? Wasn't he in Bedtimes for Bonzo, bozo or something? Ronald Reagan was an actor. Now look-it. I'm not in a reality show. I have eight episodes documenting Alaska's resources, what it is that we can contribute to the rest of U.S. to economically and physically secure our union, and my family comes along for the ride because I am family, family is us, and my family comes along on the ride to document these eight episodes for The Learning Channel. ... So Karl is wrong right there in calling it a reality show."

Earlier in the week, Rove offered another in a noteworthy line of thinly veiled, or completely unveiled, swipes at Palin, this time questioning the utility of hosting a reality television series.

"There are high standards that the American people have for it ," Rove said, "and they require a certain level of gravitas, and they want to look at the candidate and say 'that candidate is doing things that gives me confidence that they are up to the most demanding job in the world'."

The point, in essence, was that viewers wouldn't or couldn't see Palin as a presidential candidate if her time was being spent prioritizing television contracts and book tours. And on Sunday, Fox News host Chris Wallace picked up the argument, making a prediction to Palin that she wouldn't give up the glamour and money to make a White House run.

1. Acting was Reagan's job before he was even in politics
Which is something that Palin knows very little about. What makes her think the comparison is even valid?

Too bad neither of them can understand just how horrible he really was for the U.S.

4. Choosing Rove v. Palin is like choosing Pol Pot v. Stalin in an MMA fight
You don't want to root for either to win the fight, so you just sit back hoping for mutual destruction.

9. Ooh ooh ooh good plan
insult Palin enough that she can't run for POTUS because there's not enough money in it, or that she couldn't run for POTUS because of lack of gravitas...her competative spirit doesn't know when to shake off a wry bait. She'll run, she'll really run. She'd do it for all the wrong reasons, and it'll be a hoot.

Hey Peckerhead Rove............keep it up :)

10. When she does put her name in the ring
Edited on Sun Oct-31-10 01:07 PM by MadMaddie
and I believe she will. I believe her ego is so blown out of proportion, we the Democratic supporters and Independents need to make it our life goal to destroy her and her supporters.

If you think that the racism and hate is bad now, wait until she is actually calling the shots of what will happen. She will pull dirty tricks worse than Tricky Dick. You better believe this country will be in trouble. Rove sees it coming and that's why he afraid.

12. I simply refuse to believe that this whackjob could ever even come close
to being POTUS. She is delusional. She is a far-right candidate, nothing more. I don't even think she could make it through the republican primaries. However, if in some twilight-zone like nightmare she did become President, I would flee the country. And I am serious. The old "I'll move to Canada" throw-away line would become the truth in my case. Perhaps I would return one day, once she had disappeared and there was evidence that some degree of sanity had returned to the country.
