Poll: 35% Of Republicans want to impeach Obama
Source: Huffington Post

A new poll released by Public Policy Polling Wednesday introduced some surprising numbers.

Thirty-five percent of Republicans said that they would support impeaching Obama for his actions so far, though there is no indication of what specific "actions" they think could potentially merit impeachment. Twenty percent of all respondents were in favor of impeachment.

"I'm not clear exactly what 'high crimes and misdemeanors' they are using to justify that position but there may be a certain segment of voters on both the right and the left these days that simply think the President doing things they don't agree with is grounds for removal from office," said pollster Tom Jensen. Dave Weigel notes that a lot of the opposition to Obama has included rhetoric about supposed violations of the Constitution.

7. You nailed it. His very existence galls the massive Republicon inferiority complex
Because so many republicons are pathetic chickenhawk losers, they HATE the idea of a Black man having risen -- by virtue of intelligence and skill -- to a position of leadership. Rather than respond to a good man with admiration and emulation, the republicons go into petty resentment and project their self-loathing outward as hate.

3. Teabaggers wanted him impeached for being black
Right wingers wanted him impeached for not declaring war on everyone his first week in office.

I'm not a big fan of the President, but I certainly realize that he has just a few challenges to work through that are of the Republicans making. For them to claim in any unity that he is the problem is fucking amazing.

5. Yeah, like allowing 3000 people to die on 9/11,
a few thousand more to die in New Orleans, ignoring the Constitution, ignoring Congress, ignoring long-standing treaties & int'l agreements - not to mention launching illegal wars & killing hundreds of thousands of innocent Afghanis & Iraqis isn't reason for impeachment - but trying to make it just a little easier to live on a middle-class income in America is.

must be guilty of treason or some other horrendeous crime against the country. The trumped up charge against President Clinton took six years to manufacture. Wonder what they will trump up on Obama. BUT THEY SURE AS HELL WON'T GET A MAJORITY OF THIS CONGRESS TO IMPEACH HIM FOR NOTHING.

29. When Will it End???
When will this bullshit end. I am sick and tired of reading and hearing crap like this day after day. Where was their outrage when W was thumbing his nose at the constitution or torturing people? I see polls where 44% of Americans would want Bush back as President. Now I read this. I am not naive but how does this stuff get legs? I have my theories but Jesus, Obama has been President for 10 months and everyone is in a tizzy and everything he is doing is wrong. Give the guy some damned time. He's trying to push things through like healthcare and a stimulus plan to help the economy. He hasn't been perfect, but every time you turn around Republicans offer NO help and even some of these so-called Democrats have tossed him under the bus. It is frustrating. I have never seen so much animosity towards someone so quickly. I know much of it is driven by those knuckleheads Limbaugh, Beck, Fox News and right-wing talkers, but give the guy some time. It scares me to think that people actually pine for the Bush administration again. So much of what people have thrown at Obama has been pure bullshit, made-up stuff. He's a socialist, community, fascist...hell, make up your damned minds what he is. Take healthcare. If these morons are happy with healthcare in our country then they are dumber than I thought. Sure your own might be good, but how about thinking of others who don't have it and face catastrophic situations. When these people crow about loving their country, I just point out one thing...Way to think about your fellow Americans!

48. So what's this say about the other 65 per cent of them?
Am I correct that this shows that two out of three Republicans do not want to see President Obama impeached? Eliminating the small percentage who probably would find impeachment insufficient, what does this poll say about the relationship between Obama and the Republican majority who acknowledge his democratic right to continue as President.

Seems to me the big question is this: Is the possibly-reachable, and maybe up-for-grabs segment of the Republican party larger than the number of liberals being turned off by Obama's conservative-friendly approaches?

If the numbers of up-for-grabs GOP voters is significant, are these voters distributed geographically in an effective way for Obama in 2012 in terms of his political end game -- keeping and increasing his Electoral College votes?

I saw a poll a few weeks back that said a majority of Republicans thought the election was stolen. Either because Obama isn't an American citizen or through the chicanery of ACORN.

So there's a certain percetage of Republicans who think he's in office illegally, but want to see h im stay there.

:wtf:

GWB/Cheney set the bar for impeachment so high that I about imagine that Obama and all future Presidents would have to do something that I can't even imagine to be impeached. In fact it may never happen again in our country's history. Any President will just have to point to everything that Bushco did and got away with in order to defend themselves.

Republicans might want to re-think drawing too much attention to impeachment and the crimes of the last mis-administration.
