Well, when you hear the pundits tell you how terrible yesterday was for progressives, remember this: The 79-member Progressive Caucus lost four members. The conserva-dem Blue Dog Coalition will return only 25 of its 54 members

1. Both points are equally silly
Progressive Caucus members are in the safest districts and Blue Dogs are in the least safe for Democrats.

4. Precisely. To read anything into the act of electing irrational people is itself irrational.
There's no grand message to the election results because they're the result of people being pissed off at the economy, lied to by the Republicans, and not thinking straight. Simple as that.

2. Do not buy this. Much too simple to say Obama and Left.

5. That makes no sense at all
The conservatives in those districts think their blue dogs ARE progressive liberal socialist pinkos. They voted to go further right.

The people in safe progressive districts, well they stayed progressive.

The election was a referendum on how easily manipulated half the country is. If you help them tell their lies, there is no chance we win.

I would have thought we had learned that in 2000, 20004....
