Poll question: I am ready and eager to use the spoils of the Citizen United Decision for our gain |
|
Look. The GOP used the largess for robocalling and negative advertising with lots of anonymous donations.
We should use our largess for Party building (especially registering voters) and beefing up field ops in battleground states and districts.
Disclose disclose disclose....but I will take every cent we can get our hands on.

2. I'm ready for them to overturn it, require full disclosure of campaign funding |
|
and enact real campaign finance reform. But I understand your point.

3. Our tactics should not be limited to "party-building" but also include over 50% party-destruction |
|
of the GOP. We have to start using their tactics, no matter how disgusting we may think they are. The Democrats do not even play catch-up in tactics - where are our deceptive robo-calls? Where are our vote-caging efforts in repuke areas? Where are our election-security forces? Unless you think it IS better to lose, you better be prepared to lie down with the dogs. We already have the fleas from having to share a country with them.

It would appear to me that robocalling and negative ads worked for the GOP. This is exactly what we should do, starting yesterday. On another note, If the GOP ever gets a network of grass roots organizations behind them, we will have nightmares galore.

4. Look , Citizens United will be with us in '12 |
|
Thinking othwerwise is folly. So, just use it. Appoint someone like Grayson to a fundraising position; have him travel the globe and get money, from whoever wants to give..... Do it it the open. Invite the cameras and reporters. You want global capital deciding our domestic elections, then game on... For every country that is donmating to the GOP, there is a rival that will donate to us. Only thing, we will do different is disclose, unless the donor wants anonymity...... We play out cards right, we will get the house back, change the senate rules and Citizens united will be emasculatyed by '13.

7. That's the spirit! That's just the beginning............... |
|
The GOP is craven. But they have given us a tool that we can, we must, use now for the purpose of its ultimate destruction. They created a sword by which they wish to kill us. But we we can equally pick up one of our own. Failure to do so is plain stupid on our part. That's why I dont want people like Tim Kaine in charge of anything. He could think himself out of a cardboard box. I want relentless, unending coverage of the Democrats using Citizens United. There is no way the lamestream press wont cover it. It's the only way to get rid of it......

You need a firebrand to shine the light on how corrupt CU is. He's not longer an elected official. He gave literally go off the reservation, and as long as he ( or someone given the task) succinctly describes why they are doing waht they are doing. And that this hopefully is the last time, we get a majority again and gut CU.

9. What we don't need is more money in our corrupted political process. |
|
We need public financing so our representatives can spend more time working for the public interest and not catering to the special interests who bankroll their campaigns.

13. Welcome to THUNDER-DOME!!!! |
|
Two parties enter, one party leaves!! Two parties enter, one party leaves!!
Its a cage match to the death. You can't just LEAVE Thunder-dome!!!
The Washington bubble holds the participants. The angry mob screams for blood.
And on every wall of the cage, political weapons. "Family Values" hangs here, "Ear mark spending" hangs there.
But the weapon of choice ... "Citizens United Money!!"
Sure, we can try to win by wielding the "Bipartisan shield", or launch an attack with the "Sword of GOP hypocrisy" ... but ...
The most powerful weapon ... is what it has always been ...MONEY. SECRET MONEY!!!
"Well... ain't we a pair... raggedy man.... Goodbye Soldier!"

10. Well, if the Citizen United decision isn't going to be run out of town soon... |
|
We HAVE to use it. It saddens me we have to go that route, but I see no viable other option.

15. of course we have to use it brother |
|
We have to use once, and only once. We got ONE CHANCE. That't it. 2012. If we dont use it the Nation dies. Period. Democracy as we know it is over. If we use it smartly, we win, and we change the senate rules, then get rid of it, and do real campaign finance. It baffles me that so many of DU fail to see that we are in a caged fight to the death, yet still want to somehow play by some set of rules when the otehr side will not!

They are anything but!
We need real Democrats--those who put the public interest--not the special interests first.
