Every healthy DUer should just STOP paying insurance premiums! |
|
Heck, EVERY American without a catastrophic disease should just NOT PAY ANYTHING ANYMORE!
We'll storm the hospitals when we need emergency treatment, that is ALL.
I'm tired of THIS SHIT!!

1. K&R. It is tiring to come up with ways to receive what every other advanced country |
|
is able to offer their citizens.

2. How do you know that you are healthy? |
|
I thought I was perfectly healthy when it was discovered that the lump in my breast was cancer. I survived all that. 7 years later, a perfectly healthy me broke her ankle. Sure, I went to the emergency room, but luckily I had insurance, because when the orthopedic surgeon saw my leg, it was in really bad shape. Even with insurance, with the deductible and co-pays, I was out $10,000. But I probably wouldn't be walking today had it not been for the quality surgeon and the physical therapy, paid in large part by my insurance.
I'm "healthy" now. No. I am not dropping my insurance. It only takes a second to have your life completely and irrevocably changed. Very bad advice, imo.

3. We should all refuse any medical care and stop going to doctors or hospitals |
|
We should all quit our jobs to protest unemployment as well:sarcasm:

4. I understand your frustration |
|
But imagine if you stepped outside and broke a leg on the ice, or, god forbid, got in a car wreck. We need to do something to bring the insurance companies to account, but putting ourselves at further risk isn't the answer.

6. One never knows when or why they can become disabled... |
|
or ill to the point where they can never work again.
This is a very bad suggestion.

9. but why no protests years ago? |
|
People were denied health coverage then too. Clinton was pushing for health reform but no one was interested? Why have people put up with this unfair corporation based system for so long

8. Oh, right. Brilliant idea. |
|
Not.
Anybody can be healthy today and sick tomorrow. Most uninsured people are one major illness or injury away from bankruptcy. As much as I loathe those bloodsuckers, it would be insane and stupid for a presumably healthy person to drop their insurance.
