1. I wish these polls would break-out the "why" factor. |
|
Sure, I too "disapprove" of Obama's current job performance right now. Not because I don't like Obama, I fully support him, but because I feel he is not representing the ideals he said he would during the campaign.
I think if Gallup could break-out the data into sub-categories explaining "why" people disapprove, the poll would be much more meaningful.

...and furthermore--just because I'm unhappy with Obama right now, doesn't mean I'm marching over to the other side--and would vote for a Republican candidate.
That "disapprove" side doesn't always translate into pro-Republican--and that is important.

3. "That "disapprove" side doesn't always translate into pro-Republican" - EXACTLY! |
|
And I wish the MSM would point that out the next time Obama's numbers take a hit.

4. Oh, please! Let the Republicans think it does! They'll lose with 25% of the vote to |
|
Obama's 45%. If a third party on the left took 15% percent of the vote, and a third party on the right (Ron Paul wackos, maybe) took 10% then we might actually see the death of the Republican party. One can always dream, anyway.

6. re-post from yesterday |
|
While much has been said about President Obama's falling poll numbers, Tom Jensen notes that he is not alone.
Although Obama's approval/disapproval spread between April and December has fallen ten points, Mitt Romney dropped nine points, and Mike Huckabee has fallen eight points. Sarah Palin has only lost two points, but she has had consistently worse ratings than the others to start with.
"These numbers suggest that at least part of Obama's decline in popularity can be attributed to a general dissatisfaction of voters with politicians right now regardless of their party."
