Poll question: What do you think of Julian Assange? |
|
I don't know much about Assange. Does it matter who he is and where he's from?

20. I'd be edgy too, if I were him. I'm sure the US govt. has assassination teams |
|
planning to kill him.
He's a danger to the PTB, which is why I hope he reamins safe.

Not to mention I'm a bit appalled we have people in the US pushing for a person of another nationality to be our President when they have no idea of the unique issues that pertain to our wants and needs. Yet, you say he would be a better president...~sigh~

|
he's had a lot of lawsuits and nothing legally sticks, I heard somewhere today.
interesting stuff, at the very least.
I have no idea what to think of the guy or guess at his motives, but I haven't been too much into this.

15. Wikileaks is awesome. Julian who? |
|
Probably I would find him interesting company if we met, but realistically - what is this fascination with erecting heroes and idolizing people you have never met?
Wikileaks is a fantastic piece of work, which I hope is a step toward a more open and free world (or at least better behaved diplomatics), but accepting someone's good work is a different thing from idolizing somebody.
Assuming everything is done out of narcissistic desire for fame and glory is as bad as assuming everything is done out of the pure heart of selfless love for humanity. Either way you're likely to end up a disillusioned idiot.

28. Correct. That is why I don't understand DU'rs buying the Corporate Media's demonization of him. |
|
He didn't even put the latest stuff on the Internet. He gave it to news outlets first who helped clean it of names, other sensitive info, then they reported on it.
As the tent get's bigger I guess it is inevitable that it also get's dumber.

whether you like him or not.
He seems like he's also very egotistical and has a particular disdain for the US government and very little regard for anyone or anything.
But the information revealed is interesting so far. Hopefully he isn't "suicided" before revealing banking secrets!

|
He was given data, and was one of the people who decided to provide said data to some major newspapers. He did not do any of this while in the United States, or under the jurisdiction of the United States.
Why do you think he should be in jail?
