1. It makes the case even stronger that a Republican Sec. of Defense is backing it.
How smart of Obama to have a Republican in the candidate supporting progressive things like repealing DADT and major cuts to military spending. Those who claimed it was a horrible betrayal to keep a Republican around were too short-sighted.

2. K&R. I love an article I read that tells how Gates called out McCain:
Critics led by McCain say the Pentagon's report doesn't address risks to morale and fighting mettle. Gates countered: "I obviously have a lot of admiration and respect for Senator McCain, but in this respect I think that he's mistaken."

4. This is quite amazing. The GOP can't say anything. They have no excuse but bigotry and homophobia
I'm sure we'll get at least 5 of them to vote for it. And then we'll see if Obama gets 15 minutes without being called a spineless sellout.
