Let the tax cuts expire completely |
And have the president declare a temporary moratorium of the payroll tax for a year. Can he do that and just circumvent Congress? He should tell the GOP if they won't play with him, he will go it alone.

4. Even If(When) they shut this country down |
They don't care for anything or anyone that is not in their country club. We are little more then shills, pawns in this chess game of rich vs poor. They spread their "concern" for the world but back home we mean little in the scheme of things. They don't need our vote(they have machines to take care of that). They like having OUR tax money for their use but with so many of us out of work or under employed they aren't getting the money from us they used to. Makes more "cents: in their world to ship jobs overseas. After all they still get their wages, raises, health care benefits and a pretty secure position no matter what "job" they have. We are little more then window dressing for them to show to the world how fair they treat EVERYONE. They don't realize that many people in other countries are not believing a word of it. Too bad we can't get some of OUR people to see the light!

5. No... As executive and not monarch... He can't "just circumvent congress" |
In some areas he can, but certainly not tax policy.

8. I don't think the payroll tax is less than the bracket increases. |
A payroll tax tradeoff would leave more funds in the hands of the middle class than an extension of the Bush tax bracket cuts for most. It might not make up for the child tax credit though. That is a biggie for some.

7. Why would he need to go around congress to do a payroll tax holiday? |
I would think it had a decent amount of support.

I'm in the lower middle class making abround 50,000.00 per year between my wife and my employment. So, go ahead, end the tax break. It makes little difference to me and if it will help other folks by me giving a little more, so be it.
