The GOP wants all programs to be paid for, so...
Edited on Thu Dec-02-10 10:16 AM by WI_DEM
lets pay for extending unemployment benefits, child nutrician, and more stimulus (roads, bridges, etc), by letting the Bush Tax Cuts for the rich expire. Those things and so much more will be paid for.

If the GOP will not let Tax cuts for the middle class be extended then let all tax cuts expire. Then in the next congress the president should propose new middle class tax cuts and dare the GOP to vote them down. If they do they are voting against tax cuts just because they want the rich to also get benefits.

Bottom line: Mr. President, don't go in for the blackmail. If the GOP won't extend tax cuts for middle class unless the rich are included--let them all end, and then next year propose ONLY low-middle class tax cuts and dare the GOP to kill them.

Take the initiative.

1. It's also matter of rate of return.
Extending unemployment benefits, child nutrician, and more stimulus (roads, bridges, etc.) touches the lives of 99% of the American population. Extending the Bush tax cuts for millionaires touches 1% and only 1%. Screw trickle down economics. The 1% will either hoard or speculate the money we give them. The 99% will circulate the money directly into the economy.

3. The Democrats need to show just as much muscle and guts
as the Republicans. Cram this narrative down their
throats. The GOP does not pay for Tax Cuts for the Rich
but demands Unemployment Benefits for the Middle Class be paid for.

Here is the biggest problem of all. Americans get their
news and information from TV. The Strong and Wrong Republicans
understand this and get themselves on every channel to
put out their message on "we want tax cuts for every one".

Where is the Democratic Message. Where are the Democrats.

We know all about this down to the last detail. Do the
American people know what is going on???? I do not think
so. Therefore, the Republicans continuously clean our clocks.

4. Dare the GOP to vote them down?
The GOP controls the House starting next year. They won't have to vote anything down.

What's more likely to happen if all tax cuts expire is that the GOP will pass tax cuts that are even more regressive, but will throw the middle class a crumb. Then they'll dare the President to veto their tax cuts. And if you have confidence the Senate will stop that from happening, well, good luck.
