Palin quit after about 2 years ... and ... |
|
I'm sad to say that many on our side appear to have "quit" on Obama in far less time.
In fact, some of the quitting on Obama started in less than 1 year. If only we could get a book deal and a few speaking gigs.
I suspect that this post will get flamed, and locked, rather quickly. But given the tone on DU lately ... this observation seemed appropriate.

4. But he still has an opportunity to win us back |
|
It's going to be more difficult now, with the House under GOP control and the Senate effectively in the same boat. But Obama's a smart guy. If he wants a second term, I'm confident he'll sort it out.

I thought we do not have a lockstep mentality?
You mean "me."
Which would be stupid for any politician.

As if Obama's platform running was that he'd do what you personally wanted. And that Congress would have no power.

With all of the posts about how evil Obama is, and how he has failed us all so incredibly completely in just 18 months, why not?

Here people just seem to want to see the President go down in flames. Judging by what they write, the critics seem to have a twinge of joy, of excitement, maybe even the slight tingle of being a just little bit turned on when they see the latest Obama=worst ever thread.

They were behind another candidate during the primaries and never fully backed Obama in the 1st place. So I'm not surprised the knives are coming out of the woodwork now.

It's one thing to stop doing what you're doing (Palin). It's another to try to step up to the next level.
Is every politician who runs for President a quitter? I'd bet Obama would have returned to the Senate had he lost, as McCain did.

20. Once again, good point. I'm with him unequivocally up to the tax cuts issue... |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-02-10 09:21 PM by Liberal_Stalwart71
...I mean, the tax issue constitutes the cornerstone of the Democratic Party platform.
If we can't get the Democrats to act like Democrats on this issue...
If we can't even get the president not only to make good on his campaign promise, but to fight for this core Democratic Party principle, then what's the point?
I'm with him on every, single issue--though I've been disappointed with many of his choices, I'm still with him.
However, on this issue, I simply cannot. I just can't. :nono:

22. The book deals are Obama's bit. Even in office he works that. |
|
This is a man who does not even think I should have basic human rights. He and I had no ties at all, he got the vote any non Republican would have gotten, and in his case, it burned because of his open use of hate preachers during his camapign, something no Democrat has ever done. I did not vote for Barack I voted for the Democratic nominee. He was it. I'd have voted for anyone over McPalin. Don't make too much of it. He's a professional. This is not going steady, this is politics.

30. Let's put it this way... |
|
I had hope (husband didn't) with him.
Now, his administration says to Spain, who has independent courts looking into the criminality of Bush & Co, "nuh-uh... it'll destroy our relationship if you go after criminal acts of aggression. Fuck that thing that happened at Geneva... We're aiding the criminals, and if you want to remain our friends, you'll back off.
Let's put it this way... Mr. Barack Obama, once held in great esteem in my eyes, as I watched others crying for him to BE THE ONE, is NOT the one.
He's not that into us, just like many in the other two branches aren't into us.
And, no... I'm pretty sick about it, but if you should be sad about anything, be sad about THAT.
