****BREAKING****Obama in Afghanistan now!
Edited on Fri Dec-03-10 11:24 AM by jenmito
He will be speaking soon-at Bagram Air Base-he's not going to Kabul due to bad weather. (Report from MSNBC.) You can watch here online: http://www.cnn.com/video/flashLive/live.html?stream=stream4

2. Thanks.
I am hoping it'll be on CNN online... http://www.justin.tv/hoctoggle?#/w/610193360/7 .

MSNBC has taken the live feeds away from this site. They just said they will be going live to President Obama as soon as he appears.

5. I almost missed this, since I was watching the DADT hearings on C-Span 3. Poor McCain
and others against its repeal are NOT getting as much support as they had hoped they'd get.

6. What's going on? I just turned on and MSNBC is saying that the President is
not going to meet w/Karzai as scheduled. I got the impression from Andrea M that he was going to meet w/Karzai but some documents were released last night that made them decide it's best if Obama isn't seen with him?

11. But now they're saying the video conference meeting has been cancelled.
They're also giving some background, that Obama rarely (if at all) communicated w/Karzai his first year in office, and that Karzai took affront. Also, that Obama came down hard on Karzai at some point but the admin has backed off from that approach since it "didn't go well". So they're wondering what this video cancellation will do to the 'relationship'.

We just need to get the fuck out of there. But you know that.

it will supposedly be a phone call now due to technical reasons, and NOT a conspiracy that some are trying to make it.

9. Andrea Mitchell is just guessing, or
making things up. He's now going to have a phone call with Karzai instead of meeting or video conference.

he's going to speak to the troops. The bad weather excuse is for not meeting with Karzai.

that on the day Obama gets bad economic news, that he goes to Afghanistan? Maybe to change the subject?" (That's paraphrased, but that was the idea.) And Stephen Hayes, the RW commentator, shot that idea down, saying it takes a long time to plan these trips, and that it's GOOD to visit the troops.

How do you feel about his cluster bombing of children in Yemen? I'm pretty sure he didn't inherit that from anyone.

and it's better than having troops in Yemen.
