Republicans hammer 'job creators' lie and won't help unemployed because media does not do its job

That job is sorting out the truth from the lies--something the mainstream media utterly fails to do. Shame, shame on them!

1. true, but the Democrats share some blame
they are not coherent on the issue. They as a group seem confused as to whether they are supply-siders or not.

I keep seeing the GOP pound on their nonsense day after day and ask myself, why don't they give dems a chance to respond? But then whenever I see a dem on TV I have a hard time figuring out what they stand for.

6. I have to agree. The Republicans march in lockstep. We have too many DINO's who vote with R's.
Our tent is 'too damn big!' It includes too many who vote with the Republicans on tax cuts. They do not deserve to be called Democrats.

9. The Republicans have their version of DINO's...
...they call them RINO's. The difference is, their movement conservatives (aka Tea Party) is busy either forcing them out or pressuring them to stay on the reservation.

We don't do much of that at all. We grumble about our DINO's but do precious little about it.

The funny thing, the Tea Party is doing to their moderates the very thing we need to at least sometimes do to our own - and yet we giggle at them for it. In a way, I sort of envy them for their ability to crack the whip and put a scare into those on their side who won't march in lockstep.

2. The Democratic Senators could force their hand
..but that would be too bold. The issue just isn't important enough to take bold steps over I guess. They should have a breaking news conference, the networks would have little choice but to cover it, then make the case simply and clearly to the American people. How many people are gonna see them on C-SPAN? They should be preempting American idol or dancing with whatever or whatever it is that people watch.

3. If you hate corporations where do the jobs come from?
Maybe if we take a look at all the regulations coming down the line we can acknowledge that there is uncertainty in the basic business environment and we need to solidify this before business will want to expand and hire.

Tax rates are very important to decision making. With the situation in limbo anything can happen and that keeps employers from committing to projects and hiring.

4. We had years of steady growth
high employment and a strong middle class for decades with 80% plus tax on the wealthy. While we have one of the higher corporate tax rates, we have one of the lowest effective rates.
Lets face it, with the highest corporate profits in 60 years, the problem isn't uncertainty. The problem is we need to structure the tax rates so money is invested here and not over seas. A 40% tax on foreign investments would kick start our economy. Big business doesn't like our tax rates? Lets lower them to 25% with zero deductions and credits.

7. There's no uncertainty for corporations hoarding trillions--problem lack of demand, not uncertainty.

Don't fall for their 'job creator' lies. The tax rate on taxable income would go up from 35% to 39.6%. This is not keeping anyone from hiring. It's lack of demand. Too many middle class Americans who cannot afford to buy their products.

5. When you have a clear and unified message, it's much easier to get attention and shine the light on
your position. Yes, the media is complicit to a certain degree, but the Dems need to seriously reevaluate the way the create, spread, and form cohesion around messages in support of their issues and in opposition to the GOP's issues. It's not easy because R's are messaging pros, even though they base much of what they say on lies and distortions, but what we're doing now simply is not working.

8. Dems are definitely not good at marching in lockstep' perhaps because we have too many DINO's.
