There must be a full moon
Some things are in poor taste and this is one of them

Via Daily Kos, a Glenn Greewald tweet comparing an Obama supporter to Leni Riefenstahl

Bizarre!

4. Greenwald has been nuts for a while
I heard him in an interview recently where he basically came off as a conspiracy nut that has about as much credibility as a cross-eyed Teabagger.

It seems he's just looking for headlines.

6. Was listening to C-SPAN2 this afternoon, heard some great takes on media and political extremism.
Edited on Sat Dec-04-10 11:48 PM by pinto
"Extremism" from the right, and the left to an extent, of the American political make up framed in the larger sense that political discourse in the country has devolved to a more bitter, divisive format than in the past. Some good points made by the speakers.

_ Hard times have often fueled splinter politics, both between political parties and within parties.

- The media / pundit perception that politics is a war game, all or nothing. Not a civilian exercise in self government.

- The increasing effect of media driving political agendas, not reporting them.

- The overwhelming preponderance of right wing only media venues and a call for the return of the Fairness Doctrine at the FCC.

- And the general erosion of a common, civil discourse in the media and political arena.

Sorry to have no links to the show. It was on C-SPAN2 after the Senate to-do today. I had it on on the background while I was futzing around. I'll keep looking for the video from C-SPAN. It was a really interesting series of speakers.

Ugh.

Edited on Sun Dec-05-10 01:29 PM by cornermouse
See "The only adult in the room" comment. The tone of near adoration is spooky. And comments below the Kos blogger entry indicate quite a few people do not agree with his or her opinion. n/t

15. he rescinded the Riefenstahl comparison
http://twitter.com/ggreenwald

I affirm my distaste for photographic leader-glorification, but I'll rescind my invocation of Leni Riefenstahl as too inflammatory & extreme

16. Very telling of Greenwald
Going after a small time blogger for posting pics and being positive. I guess some cannot handle the fact that not everyone is disappointed in this president. Greenwald is nothing but a punk. From what I know this woman has never wished ill on Greenwald. Again, he is a coward and punk.

removed now. It wouldn't surprise me to see him ask for the birth certificate, next.

20. I just took a peek over at that blog
Seems that BWD is getting more traffic because of Greenwald. If his goal was to shame her out of her blog it has backfired.
