It is disgusting to watch the things that the right comes up with to bash The Obamas
I was just reading a short article over at Politico and noticed a poll that they have up that says: "Are the White House Decorations Too Elaborate?"

When has any other President/FirstLady/Administration been called out over the 'elaborateness' of Christmas decorations? Grr ;(

See poll here towards the bottom on the right side of the page: http://www.politico.com/click/stories/1012/rock_oprah_got_obama_the_job.html

3. Yeah, no criticism of democrats should be posted here.
Since we no longer have a repug prez to go off on, we could trade underground fucking recipes or something.

5. IMO there's a difference between 'constructive criticism' and 'bashing'. n/t

9. Definitely. There always has been. But
some people just can't seem to grasp that difference around here.

Pretty much every time a bashing comment appears on a DU thread or as an OP, someone pops up to defend it as the "right to criticize" or complains that dissenting voices are being "silenced".

19. Hmm, that tells me you have to criticize and can not be positive
about anything. If there is nothing to talk of but recipes or criticize, then you have no idea how to be positive about anything.

22. I can be positive.
I'm positively over it. Maybe I'll vote for the snowbilly, so we can hit rock bottom and finally start the required re-hab.

Open your eyes. This is bullshit!

4. +1.
Oh, the many posts, blogs, and print stories that start with something to the tune of "I'm a democrat, BUT..."

No, dear sir/madam, you're a critic.

Your alliances are with your ability to troll, inflame, and get traffic to your blog/website/youtube channel.

6. +100000000. What the RW is doing is child's play compared to the bashing by the LW.

8. I actually think some of Obama's left wing critics are motivated by racism too
They just do a better job than the Right at covering it up.

10. I agree. But that's a "third rail" concept to broach on a Left/Progressive blog.

Racism cuts across many demographics. And it doesn't have to be the overt Jim Crow type.

It would have been interesting to have a history of posts spanning the two Clinton terms to compare how he was perceived by Dems/Progressives throughout, considering the centrist policies that were enacted.

And how much is "some"? Because "some" is a rather Foxy and vague word.

11. Maybe if Obama would bash back...
there would be a lot less stuff coming from the RW?

But hey, the more he allows it to happen unanswered, the more of it he's going to get.

18. The right has no right to have that kind of criticism!
The left maybe, but not the right. They are fine with displays of success usually. They would want the US to show off its greatness and prosperity under a Republican President. They are such hypocrites.
