From CSPAN's video archive - 9/15/10 - "Presidential Remarks on the Economy."

Time and time again, folks have wondered why the President didn't "use the bully pulpit more." Rep. Wasserman Shultz (whom I adore) was just on Hardball saying the President should have addressed the nation. Well, he did. And then he went on to the campaign trail and repeated himself time and time again.
Now, complicating all of this, a day after he made this statement, 31 dems presented him with a letter saying they refused to support him...

And Rep Wasserman Shultz (and others) have said they wanted a PRIME TIME address to the nation. Given how the BP and press briefings have gone, I'm not sure that we can say that prime time events are his strong suit.
So ... where did he drop the ball? .... please understand, this is not an attempt to flame bait or invite an argument. I just see folks asking why he didn't use his bully pulpit .... and he did. So what happened?
