President fights for the poor and unemployed for 13 months of unemployment.
That is what he is supposed to do. That is probably the most liberal thing he's done, to fight for the poor and the disadvantaged.

And, yes, he had to negotiate. That is how they do things.

I am sure that someone will say that the Republican's made him extend unemployment for 13 months.

4. Yes, he could have held out for nothing.
He could have drawn the line in the sand and say the unemployed are happy to starve their chldren rather than have me cross that line.

That is one point of view.

6. Indeed...Obama fought for the working class, while some wanted to gamble them away
for political posturing.

I'm glad Obama kept fighting for workers.

I'm sure you can round up and put on display all the people who are "upset that the unemployed will have their benefits." Keep your straw man to yourself.

8. This is killing me! I see both sides of this! As always, it's not as
easy as it seems to those of us out here.

Again, I wouldn't have that man's job for the world.

10. But as Ed Schultz pointed out...
...the 99ers get nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Meanwhile the millionaires get what they want, more money to buy more politicians!

11. Very few Democrats are pushing for UI to extend past 99 weeks...
Extending UI past 99 weeks wasn't even on the table, nor will it ever be.

Pat Buchanin said it was a horrible deal for democrats...no need for a republican president if this president was willing to give them what they want any time.

13. After further consideration, I see this as a "Read My Lips Moment."
The question now will be which Republican will be the next President. They will also take the Seante, unless some miracle happens, and I do not believe in miracles.

14. In 13 months, another ransom
This time it cost $500 billion. How much will it cost in 13 months?

Say Adios to balancing the budget under your watch, Obama.

17. Obama was not going to balance the budget...
And the only way he could even start reducing the deficit was to let the tax cuts expire. But the slight stimulative effect of taking 2% from social security for people to spend won't be enough, and the budget will simply continue to get more out of control.

The next question, will they extend the debt ceiling?
