The tax compromise will save me money and I'm donating those savings
to support the reelection of President Obama in 2012.

My joint income with my wife is above $250K. If the tax cuts had expired, it would have cost me in the range of $1000 to $2000 in additional taxes, which I was not adverse to paying. Consequently, I won't keep the tax savings I get from the deal. Instead, I intend to set that money aside to be donated to Democratic candidates in 2012 including, yes, President Obama.

Because even when the Democrats in Congress and President Obama produce outcomes that are less than optimal, they are light years ahead of the worst that the repubs can and will do if they gain control of both houses of Congress and the WH in 2012.

1. REc'd. Supreme Court picks alone
Not to mention more wars and more tax cuts and more debt.

Republicans are irresponsible loons. We don't have the luxury of acting like they don't exist, don't own the media, and won't get votes. The left is delusional to think the average voter, especially in some states, will put progressives they'd approve of in the House and Senate in large numbers.

3. For Obama to become a better Democrat we also need to elect good Democrats
in the House and Senate that have the backbone to vote the right way.

We need to regain control of the House with a good margin and likewise with the Senate.

In addition, we need to hope that there are not any vacancies on the Supreme Court for the next 2 years. Otherwise, any replacement will likely be stopped by the Republican Senators. And Obama will be forced to nominate someone considered more to the right.

4. Shouldn't you be hiring someone or starting a business
after all, that's supposedly the reason you are getting a tax cut.

8. I don't support the tax cut and I don't think it will create jobs
As is obvious-my benefit from extending the tax cuts to those with over $250K in income is between $1000 and $2000 -- hardly enough to hire someone.

So I'll be spending my windfall to help keep Democrats in office because with all of their flaws, I'd rather have Democrats in office than repubs. And the reality is that those are the two options we have.

6. As I said, I was fine with the tax cuts for "people like me" expiring
And I'm donating to Democrats because they look out for me in ways that the repubs would never do.

7. go for it...
it's a free country and it's YOUR money. $2000 to a food bank might go a little farther than melting into a multi million dollar account to pay campaign advisers and Radio/Tv station owners like Clear Channel.

9. In 2009 and 2010 I cut back my political spending to give more to charitable causes
including our local food bank. In 2011 and 2012, I'll be able to support both.
