Obama, a bigger man than all of them!!! A compromise is just that
a compromise, may have been able to tilt the deal a bit, maybe more like 55-45% split on who gets what, maybe 50/50 is best, maybe it could have been 52-48 in his favor, maybe 49-51 in their favor, but it is a compromise! It is about getting something done for the folks really, I like many things we got:

Payroll tax cuts in people's checks is awesome!
Immediate small business tax credits for capital expenditures, brilliant!
All his other tax breaks for the middle class: child tax credit, tuition...etc. All very very good.

He is really the ONLY adult in the room...I love this man, I don't hate the rich bad enough to want to PUNISH them with higher taxes, I want EVERYTHING the President is able to deliver to the middle and lower class actually DELIVERED!

I still hate all the hypocrites in the Republican Party!!! Now, they can also embrace our country's HUGE DEFICITS!!!

1. The payroll tax cut comes right out of SS funding
I hope you enjoy our money. There is a payoff here for everyone except retirees. Who loses in this sellout? Retirees and your grandchildren deeper cuts in SS now because they took more funding out of the SS trust fund to buy off everyone else and your grandchildren are saddled with another trillion in debt.

2. It is ONLY 2% out of 12.4%, calm the hell down, and it is only ONE year!!!
A stronger economy is all we need, this can be out back in in one month at 4-5% GDP.

7. We won't get a COLA for three years. It's only 2%! Ask the
the retiree that is trying to get by on $800 a month. It is nothing more than a bribe for the middle class working people taken out of retirees pockets. A 4% GDP won't do squat for retirees, as a matter of fact they already have their cuts in the works.

8. IF there is a shortage in the overall fund, it won't effect anyone alive today...
This is NOT going to make any difference in the numbers and how our budget works, NONE!

13. Bullshit you know damn well this will just add fuel to the
Republicans to cut SS (now). You know there is a cut in the COLA formula for SS in the works and this will only require deeper cuts. This tax bribe will do nothing more than drive this country further into bankruptcy. The Republicans got their bush tax cuts extended a new estate tax cut and managed to put SS even further in the hole.

4. Its middle class stimulus though and that DOES create jobs.
I'm not sure 2% is enough middle class stimulus to make enough of an impact, but it definately is the kind of stimulus that does. Creating jobs = creating more payees into social security. I don't see how this is a non-liberal concept. Its trickle up, not trickle down and since social security tax is capped at a certain income anyway, its inherently targeted only at middle class folk.

12. Obama validates the right, not the left
His weakness in compromising is strengthening the hands of the right wing by his consistent selling out of liberal principles to settle for whatever crumbs the right wing will give him. When the right wing wins all branches of government in 2012, it will be people like you who are to blame. Obama needs to start showing some guts. That's what adults do. Appeasement is not an adult strategy.

is not compromise.
