N.Y. Democrat wins reelection, bringing House races to a close
Republican Randy Altschuler conceded to Rep. Tim Bishop (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday, bringing the last undecided House race to a conclusion.

"After consulting with my family and campaign staff, I am ending my campaign and offering congratulations to Congressman Tim Bishop on his victory," Altschuler said in a statement.

Bishop's margin of victory was less than 300 votes.

"This was a very close election, and I want to thank everyone who was involved. Let me assure each and every one of my supporters, including my volunteers, donors and campaign staff, that your hard work, friendship and generosity will never be forgotten."

The concession by Altschuler means the GOP gained a net total of 63 House seats in November.

1. The GOP won 63 House seats in November?
So, when Obama told Rep. Marion Berry that the difference between 1994 and this year was that now we had him, he actually meant that we would lose even more seats than in 1994? The most House seats lost in a midterm by either party since 1938.

4. You gotta look at the whole picture. Yes we lost 63 compared to 54 in '94
but we also lost less senate seats than in '94 (did you know we lost 12 Senate seats as well as control?) and we lost fewer governor races than in '94. So yeah, the house sucked but we kept the Seante.

5. Of course I remember.
I was only referring to Obama's arrogant response when Berry warned him over a year ago that 2010 was starting to look like 1994. Berry knew what he was talking about since he had been in the Clinton WH at the time. Did Obama really think that his mere presence would make a difference and avoid the shellacking that the Dems got last month?

A veteran reporter commented a few months ago that this was the most tone deaf WH that he had ever covered.
