Slideshow: How Obama Stacks Up

Slideshow: How Obama Stacks Up

You might find this especially interesting. We've taken Gallup's presidential approval ratings from Ike to Barack and lined them up against each other over the first 22 months of their respective presidencies. It allows you to see how Obama stacks up against each of his post-war predecessors at the comparable point in time in their presidencies. Here, for example, is Obama versus Reagan:

3. Love that photo collage. And Obama's poll numers look
pretty good.

Two presidents who's comparisons are quite accurate during the same time period are Johnson, because Kennedy had just been assassinated so his poll numbers were hugely inflated because of a heartbroken and sympathetic country. Not saying he didn't do a couple of great things, but those numbers were emotionally driven due to the assassination Ditto for Bush II. His poll numbers were stratepheric after 9/11, but he was never that popular.
