1. What does that mean?
Hopeful for better deal without tax cuts for the greedy that would hurt 99ers of us. Many good wealthy people have spoken out that they do not want tax cuts for themselves, they want to put in economy, help to build new roads, bridges, etc.

7. The givaway to the wealthy is obscene and the attack on Social Security is insane.
This deal is a bad deal for Americans.

5. I just read an interview w/Weiner and he said they weren't necessarily looking
to block this, but to make it better.

This is kind of a surprise to me (the vote) because we've been hearing it'll probably pass even though not too many actually like it. I know this isn't THE VOTE, but it's telling and maybe a portent of what's to come?

Thanks for posting this, Clio! :hi:

16. Here's what Weiner said - which doesn't really give specifics, but...
/snip

Rep. Anthony Weiner: Our objective isn’t to necessarily block it. We’re trying to improve it. We’re trying to get some things included in the deal that aren’t. We’re trying to get some things taken out. If the idea is that, that this is a take it or leave it deal I think the president is going to realize that there are going to be a lot of Democrats who are going to be voting no. /snip

10. It doesn't need to win in the caucus to pass in the full House
It will get strong support from the Repub's and could pass even if more than 50% of Democtrats vote against it.

it's a link to National Review, TPM is reporting that the Senate tabled their version of the DREAM Act and will vote on the House version.

See the "breaking" banner on TPM's front page

32. I am happy to see that Congress has decided to do the job we pay them to do.
Good on Nancy Pelosi (as usual) along with Chris Van Hollen (color me shocked).

Hopefully we will see a more palatable bill emerge that can be rammed down the throats of the Republicans before the year is out.

I hope Reid doesn't let the working class people down.

I have not seen this much fire from Congressional Dems in a long time, so I must thank the President.

43. Looks like President Obama has taken that job on by himself.
Obama is himself heralding the Reagan Revolution part 2. Note that Obama is not even willing to repeal the Bush tax cuts, much less the Reagan tax cuts.

Let's not forget how much Obama praised Reagan during his campaign. Now we see why.

We saw it in HC debate. "Progressive dems" threatened to vote against HC reform because it lacked Public option...and they all voted for it at the end because it is "the best they can get".
