Where was the planning, either in Congress or in the White House, for the expiration of the tax cuts? The deal Obama made is a poor one (he doesn't like it himself), but the hostage situation is unfortunately real. At the same time, the complaints of Congress have plenty of merit, yet their timing on this fight is abysmally poor.
Somehow we have our president and our two majorities forced to decide whether tax cuts for the rich go through, or whether unemployed lose funding for benefits. How might they have planned this better, and could they have possibly planned it worse?
I think we can still win if we push it to the end, but we have to put so much more at risk than we might have needed to otherwise. Was there a plan for this? What was it, do you think?

Now they decide to place themselves into the costume that the GOP and media has prepared for them. The tax n spend liberal.
