If we’re able to stop Obama on this it will be his Waterloo. It will break him," Jim Demint

God damn it 75% of the Americans want health care reform and a strong public option. Pass the bill
@ 50 + 1 (Biden) votes and dare the other side to filibuster. Obama the people have your back but you
must have our backs too.

White House Denies Report They’re Pushing For Deal With Lieberman

The White House is shooting down a report in Politico claiming that Obama advisers are pushing Harry Reid to cut a deal to dump the Medicare buy-in to make Joe Lieberman happy.

White House senior communications adviser Dan Pfeiffer emails me:

“The report is inaccurate. The White House is not pushing Senator Reid in any direction. We are working hand in hand with the Senate Leadership to work through the various issues and pass health reform as soon as possible.”

Whatever the case, it doesn’t seem unlikely that the Medicare buy-in will be dropped if that’s what is necessary to get to 60 votes. But the White House insists it’s not pushing for any such thing, at least for now.

9. POLITICO has a much poorer track record than the White House, IMHO.
They are funded by wingnuts, and they rely way too much on "anonymous 'officials' "

If you get bored someday do a search for Politico over at mediamatters. Good for a fun afternoon of reading.

15. Right. He's NOT trying to get a bill passed that can be improved upon over time.
He's doing it all for his legacy. And you know this how? :eyes:

13. They're NOT gonna stop Obama. He's gonna get a bill.
The bill needs to be passed in the Senate so it can be "married" with the House bill where things will change. Then-reconciliation?

16. The problem
Obama's advisers act like they are Republicans since they are doing everything possable to help make
this happen. No Public Opotion. No expansion of Medicare and medicaid. All this time on health care
and what will be accomplished.Money to Insurance Companys with little oversight. The converatives get
what they want.

If conservatives win on health care Democrats may kiss the House goodbye In 2010,and Reid and Dodd
better be ready for retrement.Come 2011 Obama's advisers will have to testify In Impeachment hearings
against Obama which mark my words will be coming If they take the House In 2010.And they can kiss
getting anything done In Congress goodbye.

20. My bad
My point was trying to say If things continue and the Republicans take the House In 2010 then come
2011 Obama's advisors who act like Republicans will be brough In to testify In Impeachment hearings.
Just like Clinton they will try to Impeach him for something. Most likely on the Birther claims.

It Is 2010 that Democrats need to start worrying about. If Republicans take the House they will remind
the public why they voted them out In 2006,and 2008 and Obama will be reelected easily In 2012.

you can't just impeach a president 'cause you feel like it: "Just like Clinton they will try to Impeach him for something. Most likely on the Birther claims."

22. Republicans
I cannot explain the logic of Republicans. But,rather the Birther's claim or Acorn,or some other BS
reason they will try to find some excuse to Impeach him If they are able to take the House.

will try to impeach him unless they want to be laughed out of office.

24. GOP
They still treat Palin like a continder and some apolage to limbough when they make mistake of critizing him,and treat the Birthers seriously. They will use some excuse to Investigate Obama If
they take the House.Of course If Obama has advisors who understodd to win 2010 elections they need
a excitied base then this threat would not have to be considered but since they act like they want a
Republican House and gridlock of the Obama agenda then people have to start taking this seriously.

25. No way does ANY Dem., including Obama, have to take impeachment seriously!
There's nothing to impeach him on! The conservative Supreme Court Justice swore him in! He's eligible. Period. Case closed.
