Ed Schultz on Sarah Palin's latest tweet: |
|
"Sarah Palin-she may have gotten this one right. She slammed the President for the Republicans on the tax compromise. She did it on Twitter-that's her vehicle. America's biggest empty suit tweeted this: 'Obviously Obama is so very, very wrong on the economy & spins GOP tax cut goals;so fiscal conservatives: we expect you to fight for us...'"
Do you guys still stand with Ed?

I am just damned tired of the constant bickering back and forth based on a single statement, incident. It is childish. Direct your consternation to Schultz and let HIM respond. It is possible, just possible, he might have posted in the heat of the moment and now be seriously regretting it.
Not something anyone around here has ever done, surely. :eyes:
Can't we debate in an honest manner without the straw man arguments or attributing words and motivations to other posters that are clearly not what was said or meant? Honesty and integrity is also a democratic value.

12. Your post didn't address my OP. You just made a snide remark with |
|
no comment on the substance of the post.
I said he SAID those things-it's NOT as if he "posted in the heat of the moment..." And he was contradicting himself every few sentences, and he's been saying stupid things for a long time now.

I am not here to stand up for Ed Schultz. Frankly, I do find that he suffers from chronic "foot-in-mouth" syndrome. But, that said, DUers have developed a pattern of attacking whatever DEM has disappointed us that week in a manner that is both hypocritical and self-defeating. One week, Speaker Pelosi is a heroine. The next week she is the "devil incarnate." Ditto, Rep, Alan Grayson. Ditto Keith Olbermann. Ditto President Obama. Ditto Rachel Maddow. Ditto Sen. Harry Reid. Ditto Lawrence O'Donnell. Ditto Sen. Barbara Boxer. Ditto Sen. Russ Feingold. Ditto Cenk Uygar. Ditto Sen. Bernie Sanders. Ditto Michael Moore. Ditto Thom Hartman. Ditto Sen. Al Franken.
and on, and on, and on, and on. Those discussions don't center around asking what on earth is going on to make them do/say whatever it is they did/said. Nope, straight to total derision....

19. AGAIN-He SAID it on his show-he didn't POST it. Why do you keep talking about |
|
him POSTING something? Ed is just plain dumb and speaks from his "gut" instead of from his head. I remember him saying the health care should be killed and they should wait 'til after the midterms when Dems. could pick up a few MORE seats! :eyes:

20. You were talking about Palin's posted tweets... |
|
A distinction without difference. But, if it makes you feel good, fine, I misread what you posted. Again, a distinction without difference, whether he said it or posted it. If he were tweeting he would be likewise posting from his "gut," I'd be willing to bet. I don't argue that he does that.

17. Ed needs to realize he's better at being a sportscaster than delving into politics |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 12:27 AM by zulchzulu
I could go on with how many times Ed is over his head on political complexities. He would even make fun of that. But the problem is that people like Rush Limbaugh, who would never see or understand the myriad complexities of political issues, has essentially made it possible for people like Ed Schultz to think he can parse his half-baked political opinions and think he's valid. Ferchrissakes, Ed even sounds like Rush.
It's embarrassing to listen to people like Ed on the radio and on TV. He hasn't done his homework on so many issues and thinks everyone is smiling back at him in agreement. It's all about him and not what is really important.
So fuck him.
