Why should I support a president that continues Bush style tactics? |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 06:28 PM by DaveofCali
Why should I support a president that allows his Secretaries and Attorney General to continue using extraordinary rendition (having other countries torture prisoners), use invasive and 4th Amendment violating tactics at the Airport, continue and expanding warrantless wiretapping powers (requesting detailed records on someone's internet usage from an ISP without a court order), request all Internet communications that use encryption to be decryptable to the government (in a planned bill for next year), scare people about potential terrorism in Walmarts and other places (Janet Napolitano's message in TV's in Walmarts about "if you see something, say something" encouraging reporting suspicious activity to local police), hunt down Julian Assange as public enemy number one (hunting someone down for exposing the truth), and use extreme bullying tactics to try to shut down Wikileaks (both of these showing America as the aggressive empire that will crush all opposition to its power, and showing America as an enemy to free speech and violating the principles that it has touted soo much.)

It ought to be good since the rest of the narrative is coming across as some sort of joke.

Unless you have some evidence this administration has been the cause of someone having been tortured, your post is short-sided bullshit.

operating and they are trying to extradite Assange and try him for espionage (which is ridiculous.) He has sold out on the public option and now on enriching the uberwealthy. He is, for all practical purposes, the same as Bush.

13. Every four years you get a choice between the lesser of two evils |
|

Make your choice! You are not so special that your vote counts more than anyone else so every tea partier gets a vote equal to yours and they will each choose their version of the lesser of two evils. It is also your right to leave the choice to everyone else.

18. Theoretically, we have any number of choices ... |
|
... depending upon how many parties play the game. There are the Greens, Reform Party, etc. I don't believe The Rent Is Too Damned High Party has put forward a Presidential Candidate in recent years, but who knows what 2012 holds.
Notice, I said theoretically. There is a difference between theory and reality.
Fast forwarding to the punchline of the joke about theory and reality: In theory, we're sitting on two million dollars. In reality, we're living with two whores.

But don't worry, people will tell you about the "lesser of two evils".
I am starting to wonder if it isn't better to have actual evil up front so we can fight it.. instead of evil in good's clothing?
