4. He took away all their reasons not to repeal. He did it his way and it worked. |
|
He didn't settle for some fickle "use the courts to do it" approach. He didn't use his executive power to put a band aid on it that could have been easily ignored by a future President. He took the long view and focused on repeal in the most powerful, effective and permanent way possible and he is delivering.
Thats what leadership actually is. It can often be quiet and calculating, contrary to those who have been screaming and beating their chests for him to scream and beat his chest.

6. I have to admit I have to say I like the way he works. |
|
He plays both sides, and while he's on one side, he wears down the other side----while pissing off his side and in the end, he wins. I like our President. He takes his time, but he gets shit done.

18. I'll add that Pelosi got it passed as a stand alone law |
|
I'm sure with agreement with the President and Harry Reid. There was nothing else that the repigs could complain about. No funding attached to the bill, simple yes or no.

21. Yea, Reid's strategy was that if he could get it attached to a military spending bill... |
|
...then that would likely force the Republicans to vote for it, lest they end up defunding their own favorite toy. I admired his thinking at first, but like a lot of strategies, it sounded better on paper than it worked out in practice.
But lets face it, ultimately had they not bent over on the tax cut issue, the Republicans probably never would have let this one through.

and thanks to ALL those who helped, fought, and never gave up. From our servicemen/women whose courage on this never wavered, to the folks on both sides of the aisle who managed to overcome their own fears.
