4. Yet still be sad that the DREAM Act failed
All those who worked so hard to get DADT passed should put equal efforts to continuing to fight for the DREAM Act.

5. DREAM is finished for at least 2 years...
Failure to get cloture today means you'd be relying on a Republican House and more conservative Senate to pass DREAM - and there is no chance of that.

We win on DADT and possibly START. Big wins, but that will be it for a couple of years.

8. Corker threatened yesterday that if DADT Repeal passed, republicans would kill the START Treaty.
They are rotten people.

6. Progress is a slow, hard fight.
Frankly, we've managed to do amazing things in the last two years. And the next two years, we won't accomplish a tenth of what we did before. But progress never stops entirely.

I don't perceive the same sense of urgency with which the DADT repeal was addressed here. I guess my appeal is for DUers, gay and straight, and anywhere along the liberal spectrum, to be equally vocal and supportive of these young undocumented Americans. We must show solidarity on all issues of civil liberties and help to achieve the aspirations of all.
