He's not one of my favorites and certainly not a favorite of most here at DU for some very good reasons but on DADT he truly was committed and delivered leadership. That is not to discount the leadership of Harry Reid and the committment of President Obama.

1. He's usually a prick, but I'm happy to recommend this one.

4. Is he of further use or can we dispose of him now?
I'm not as forgiving as some. I got what I wanted, expect little else, and he can beat it unless there is some concrete goal he can be of service on.

And to tell the brutal truth, his net harm still far exceeds his good.

16. Ned Lamont would have supported the Dems on that and a lot more issues than Liebertraitor.
You guys are such chumps.

3. I give him credit for this, but his single-handed obstruction of the Medicare buy-in
during the HCR negotiations is unforgivable. I also cannot forgive him for acting as a human crutch (along with Graham) propping up McCain during the 2008 GE.

He bolted the party when defeated in the primary in 2006. Whatever Lieberman's intentions, IMO he does not deserve to run on the Democratic ticket in 2012.

5. Ha
He was really the "without whom" this bill would not have passed...

We can "beat him up" another day...

6. OK but don't forget to mention the work on this by Sen. Gillibrand & Patrick Murphy in the House.

10. Kudos To Them
Gillibrand: This issue is so important to so many of the Democrats -- both Mark Udall <(D-Colo.)> and I have been working very hard -- but we asked Sen. Lieberman to take the lead. He brings and commands so much respect both with the Democrats and with the Republicans

As the senior member of the Armed Services Committee, we could think of no better person to be the leading voice for this bill, and that's why we asked him to take the lead from the very beginning.

11. +1 one good deed does not erase
history. Everything totalled... he's still a prick who hasn't earned my support. Glad for the result but holy Joe is scum. There are lots of examples of rotten people who have done at least one good thing. That doesn't make me vote for them or support them.

12. I will give him his due but there is no way I am voting for him in 2012. As a CT resident,
it is time to finally get a decent Senator to work with our new Sen. Blumenthal. We even have a Dem Gov now.
