Isn't it amazing that we teach our kids that the gridlock the Senate creates is a good thing?

In every civics or government class I had they always talked about how wonderful it was that we have the Senate that blocks big changes. I suppose blocking items like the anti-lynching legislation, many different attempts to pass civil rights legislation, and now health care reform are great testaments to this system, huh?

The Senate is a lousy institution and it needs to be reformed or this country will wither and die in the long run.
