Worst Persons Of The Day
CNN's John King for asking whether there will be segregated units for gays in light of the repeal of DADT.

FOX Noise's Juan Williams for asking what will happen if two gay soldiers are seen kissing in a mall.

1. Their bigot underpants are showing...

Juan... I would imagine the same thing would happen to a straight military couple seen kissing in the mall, if they are in any way breaking the military code of conduct, then they are punished according to those rules. Just because GLBT folk will be allowed to serve openly doesn't mean they don't have to follow the military code of conduct.

These friggin' reporters and politicians who think it's going to be a raging leather party, with sex all over the place, are thinking that GLBT people who serve their country are somehow different than the straight ones that serve. A certain mindset is needed to be in the military, there will be no men with pink tu-tu's showing up in the barracks asking their straight colleagues to dance or have sex in the showers. It seems the naysayers think being able to be open about ones sexuality will suddenly make them forget all they've learned in the military and turn into sexual predators. But, of course, that's what happens when you try thinking with your head up your ass.

2. There Is Also Still Such A Thing As Convention And Heterosexual Privilege
Edited on Tue Dec-21-10 07:07 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
And because of them many gay folks refrain from engaging in the same kind of public shows of affection that straight folks do. And I'm sure Juan wouldn't care if he saw two women kissing as long he thought they were hot...

An an aside I was listening to a lot of conservative talking heads to see their reaction. Some were supportive...Some were mildly supported...Some were conflicted...Only a few were adamantly opposed....

3. I refrain depending where I am because
I don't want the shit beat out of me.

I feel sorry for my gay brothers who always seem to be the ones picked on. You hardly ever hear anything about lesbians in a negative context -- but that goes back to your point of hetero privilege, I suppose. Men don't mind lesbianism nearly as much 'cause they fantasize or think they have a shot at a threesome (not all men but enough). I guess we're just not as threatening to people. :)

4. I Think The Repeal Does More To Allow Gay Folks To Not Hide Who They Are Than Show Who They Are
Edited on Tue Dec-21-10 07:18 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
These people who think gay folks are all of sudden going to make ostentatious displays of their orientation are ignorant. People are people and most people don't advertise their orientation. It's just now they won't have to hide it.

6. John King Framed His Question As If He Was Asking It To Foster Debate
I am all for open debate, even here, but I don't think segregating folks by gender orientation is a legitimate topic for debate; at least no more legitimate than segregating folks by race, religion, ethnic group, et cetera...

He's pretty much an empty suit... Juan Williams is different. He's obviously a bright man...Sometimes I wonder if he thinks things through or if he just harbors some half baked, way out there, thoughts...

8. It's the functional equivalent of the 'Cavuto mark'. (For those of
you who aren't conversant with the Cavuto mark, it's a symbol otherwise known as a question mark , used by Fox to legitimize an otherwise totally unsupported and vicious attack against someone/something Liberal by turning it into a 'legitimate' question.
Ex: Is Barak Obama really a Muslim?

7. Juan (Tom) Williams should check standards for military conduct
public displays of affection are not permitted. Not for straights, and now, not for gays. What's so hard to figure out, Tom?
