Lieberman: “My wife said to me, ‘Why do you always end up being the point person here?’ ”

Lieberman Pushes Shifts on Overhaul

By DAVID M. HERSZENHORN and DAVID D. KIRKPATRICK
Published: December 14, 2009

WASHINGTON — Just the thought of Joseph I. Lieberman makes some Democrats want to spit nails these days. But Mr. Lieberman, the Connecticut independent, is not the least troubled by his status as Capitol Hill’s master infuriator.

In fact, he could not be happier. He is right where he wants to be — at the center of the political aisle, the center of the Democrats’ efforts to win 60 votes for their sweeping health care legislation. In short, he is at the center of everything and he loves it.

“My wife said to me, ‘Why do you always end up being the point person here?’ ” he said, flashing a broad grin in an interview on Monday.

The day before, Mr. Lieberman threatened on national television to join the Republicans in blocking the health care bill, President Obama’s chief domestic initiative. Just hours later, he said, he left the office of the Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, more certain than ever that he held all the cards.

“Harry said, ‘We will do what we can do to secure this,’ ” Mr. Lieberman recalled. “He said, ‘I have got some work to do with other members of the caucus.’ But he said, ‘My own feeling is we need you to get to 60 and so I am going to do my best.’ ”

You've all worked with one, I'm sure... They chronically scheme and plot to manufacture one crisis after another that only they can solve... Workplace saboteurs are sociopathic, machiavellian, narcissists... an Joe Lieberman is one

9. Stamford, unfortunately it is just a city here in CT.
They live to close for me and it is 45 minutes away! They need to stay in DC. Actually, he needs to be voted out and then leave the state in disgrace.

Sherrod Brown seemed to be hinting at that on Countdown tonight, "retribution, (we'll) talk about that later...."

Also seems to think hope is not lost for the Medicare Buy-In. We shall see....

Remember Joe Lieberman was Obama’s Mentor in the Senate

By: fflambeau Monday December 14, 2009 10:05 pm

Those who are up in arms over Sen. Joe Lieberman’s "veto" of the extension of Medicare should remember this. When Sen. Barack Obama arrived in Washington, D.C. in 2005, he selected as his mentor none other than: Joe Lieberman.

Here’s David Sirota writing about this, after discussing Obama’s stab in the back of the progressive Lamont in Connecticut and his stab in the back of the progressive Christine Cegelis (Obama backed Duckworth) way back in 2006:

snip:

Other sources, including the Hartford Courant, reported that Obama chose Lieberman as his mentor.]

22. People of CT, we beg you. Please vote this man out of the Senate.
It is ALL about him and his over-sized ego. He doesn't care about the people of Connecticut, and he certainly doesn't care about the welfare of millions and millions of Americans.

What are this man's true accomplishments -- that he got V chips put into TVs?

He is useless, a disruptor and interested only in hearing his whiny voice echoed on Sunday programs.

I'll NEVER, NEVER, NEVER regret my vote in 2000, because I think Al Gore is awesome. But it makes me sick to know I ever voted for this guy to be #2. Yuck.

Senator Lieberman, you are an irrelevant nobody. Try as you might to put yourself at the center of every issue, the every day, average American couldn't pick you out of line up if their lives depended on it.

Hopefully, the good people of CT will wake to their decades-long mistake and send you back home permanently so you can have more ego-stroking conversations with your wife.
